To be more than just an average me!
There is so much one can do. So much one can say. So much that one can conduct, to make someone's day. I want to go out into the streets. To reach the homeless and poor. To show them that there is a light. There is hope. And there is a gem hidden amongst the coals of life. I want to help the hurt, broken and lonely. To reach the forgotten and withdrawn, the abused and mistrusted and help them to discover and turn a new page! I do however have my own set of problems. I am not perfect. I am a cutter. I am an addict. I hurt people often. I trust to easily, and I also have trust issues - a lot of it being myself. I have a struggling relationship with God, but I am learning to trust Him, and look for Him, even when I can't see or feel Him. He will always be my light! No matter what hell I think I am going through. <3 Kara (19) (Australia) COPYRIGHT ISSUES... (Unless stated, and even then not always done, the photos and pictures are not my own... I heart RAIN!

Even better are STORMS!!!

The violence and anger built up inside. The love of God expressing His emotions through the environment. The tension, the fire, the deadly choir… a rush, a twirl and plenty of swirls!

I Love Storms!

THE PHOTO CHALLENGED - Day 5 (26th of October 2009).

It rained today, and it was pouring when the sun was going down, so I almost forgot to take a photo (or two). But when I went outside… it was probably one of the most stunning ones I’ve ever seen in the city (since I’ve been living here). Sadly the photograph looks no where near as good as the real thing, but I ran back inside and grabbed the camera anyways - having my friends wonder what I was doing in the pouring rain :) Hope you enjoy. Lesson learnt from me today… if on the “”“miserable”“” appearing days… God can still easily create a beautiful ending :)

Best non-official music video created. Best song.

~Superchick~ Stand in the Rain ~

This song is me right now. I just want to cry but I can’t. I come so close, but then it stops. The pain within is at times overwhelming and I cry out to God to reach in.

It’s Raining :)

17.01.2010

First rain received by the tanks.

Thank goodness that the huge block of rain a few weeks ago, wasn’t the only rain we’d receive this season :)

Bless the sun and the rain. Bless all those who cause us pain.
Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about learning to dance in the rain.

Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about learning to dance in the rain.

So stand in the rain
Stand your ground
Stand up when its all crashing down
You stand through the pain
You won’t drown
And one day what’s lost can be found
You stand in the rain

So stand in the rain

Stand your ground

Stand up when its all crashing down

You stand through the pain

You won’t drown

And one day what’s lost can be found

You stand in the rain

NEED WASHING?

(Something my Mum just emailed me…)

A little girl had been shopping with her Mom in Woolies. She must have been 6 years old, this beautiful red haired, freckle faced image of innocence.

It was pouring outside. The kind of rain that gushes over the top of rain gutters, so much in a hurry to hit the earth it has no time to flow down the spout.. We all stood there, under the awning, just inside the door of the Woolies.
We waited, some patiently, others irritated because nature messed up their hurried day.

I am always mesmerized by rainfall. I got lost in the sound and sight of the heavens washing away the dirt and dust of the world. Memories of running, splashing so carefree as a child came pouring in as a welcome reprieve from the worries of my day.

Her little voice was so sweet as it broke the hypnotic trance we were all caught in, ‘Mom let’s run through the rain,’
She said.
‘What?’ Mom asked.

‘Let’s run through the rain!’ She repeated.

‘No, honey. We’ll wait until it slows down a bit,’ Mom replied.

This young child waited a minute and repeated: ‘Mom, let’s run through the rain..’

‘We’ll get soaked if we do,’ Mom said.

‘No, we won’t, Mom. That’s not what you said this morning,’ the young girl said as she tugged at her Mom’s arm.

‘This morning? When did I say we could run through the rain and not get wet?’

‘Don’t you remember? When you were talking to Daddy about his cancer, you said, ’ If God can get us through this, He can get us through anything! ’ ‘

The entire crowd stopped dead silent.. I swear you couldn’t hear anything but the rain.. We all stood silently. No one left. Mom paused and thought for a moment about what she would say.

Now some would laugh it off and scold her for being silly. Some might even ignore what was said. But this was a moment of affirmation in a young child’s life. A time when innocent trust can be nurtured so that it will bloom into faith.

‘Honey, you are absolutely right. Let’s run through the rain. If GOD let’s us get wet, well maybe we just need washing,’ Mom said.

Then off they ran. We all stood watching, smiling and laughing as they darted past the cars and yes, through the puddles. They got soaked.

They were followed by a few who screamed and laughed like children all the way to their cars. And yes, I did.
I ran. I got wet. I needed washing.

Circumstances or people can take away your material possessions, they can take away your money, and they can take away your health. But no one can ever take away your precious memories…So, don’t forget to make time and take the opportunities to make memories everyday.

To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under heaven.
I HOPE YOU STILL TAKE THE TIME TO RUN THROUGH THE RAIN.

jchcchick:

A few weeks ago, we took our YouthStreet SK8 Crew to Sydney with the intention of going to Waterloo Skate Park. The last time we took our crew to Waterloo, there was a Volcom Skate Comp, so they didn’t get to skate there too much. I did, however, get a photo with Stryper. (It’s in my profile pics album on Facebook.)

Anyways, an hour into the drive, it starts to rain. The closer we got to Sydney, the harder it started to rain. By the time we finally got to Waterloo, it wasn’t raining too bad, so we went to check it out. This time, there was a Nike SB Skate Comp. There were looking for a new skater to sponsor. I didn’t even realize Nike did anything with skateboarding. We were only there for about five minutes when it starts to rain again.

We had been praying against the rain in the van on the way to Sydney, and one of our crew, Joseph says to me, “You prayed for the rain to stop, but it didn’t!” I told him that this just means that we were meant to do something a little different today. “Like what?”

After we picked up our pizza and ate it in the van, we (the staff) decided to take them to an indoor skate park in Olympic Park called Monster. It wasn’t exactly in our budget, so we (the staff) all pitched in to pay for them to skate. It’s a fairly decent sized skatepark. Half of it is indoors, and the other half is outside. And at that point, it had stopped raining.
