A pregnant woman was told to abort her 4th child by the doctors. They told her there was a chance she could die if she gave birth. She said “I’d rather die than kill my own child.” She lived. I’m 15 years old, and when I remember that story, I cry. Mom, your love GMH.

Yesterday I wore a sleeveless top for the first time in over a year. A girl I know but have never talked to walked beside me, drew her sleeves up and compared her arm to mine. We both ignored the scars on both our wrists. She told me she was jealous of my tan. Knowing that there are other survivors GMH.

I’ve had Alopecia Universis since I was ten years old. I had gotten a wig to wear in public. A few days before a family party I ripped it and was nervous about going to the party. When my 4 year old cousin said she wished she had magic hair that could come and go, I almost cried. Her innocent love GMH even today.

I went to my room feeling down. My sister sat with me and asked what was wrong while playing with my label maker. I told her that I thought nobody loved me and then added not to waste the labels. She printed a label anyway, stuck it on my head, said, “I didn’t waste it”, and left. I looked in the mirror. The label said ‘I love you’.

On the day of the 4th of July parade, my best friend, Mark, told me he couldn’t do it anymore and said the 18 year friendship between us had to end. While at my best friends great grandparents’ 65th wedding anniversary there was an elderly man getting cake. His wife was in line before him. He said “That’s my wife…the best thing that ever happened to me.” I asked how long they’d been married. His response? “62 years and the rest of my life.” LGMH

My boyfriend died last summer. A week before his death, he said that I have to promise to him that I won’t ever give up. After his death, I found out he knew all the time he was going to die. I wanted to die too. Then I found a letter, that he had wrote for me before his death, “Remember what you promised.” That letter still GMH.

Today I finally got the courage to tell my long term boyfriend that the reason I didn’t want to go beyond kissing was because I was molested by my last boyfriend. Since I was young, my dad would make me stand against a wall until I apologized. Out of misery and boredom, my little brother would sneak over when my dad was out of sight to bring me his favourite teddy bear to stand beside me so I would feel better. Today, our school went on a end of the year trip to a camping resort. While most kids went swimming, the most popular boy in the school spent his whole day playing in the arcade, winning tickets beyond belief. Why? He wanted to win a big prize for his friend’s epileptic brother. M, you GMH.

Today my dad was diagnosed with cancer, only 9 months after my mother’s breast cancer diagnosis. The only person I’ve told so far is one of my closest friends. She posted a link to this website on my facebook page and told me to check it out. I cannot thank you enough. GMH

I have been struggling with Anorexia, Bulimia, and Depression since the age of 11. A few weeks ago, my grandmother took me to see a few of her friends. The first thing her friends told me was “You’re the prettiest girl I have ever seen.” Since then, I’ve made a full recovery. Their kindness GMH.

At a water park, a guy pushed me over without knowing. I fell and scraped my whole leg on the ground that was covered in salt water. My leg was dripping in blood so I was looking for something to help clean my scrapes. A passer by noticed, took off their shirt, handed it to me and walked away before I could thank them. Random strangers who care GMH.

Yesterday I called my best friend’s mother while waiting for my plane to New York. And despite much hesitation, I told her that I am in love with her daughter. Her reply: “Honey, I already knew that. When my daughter was 15, her boyfriend turned 18. He was forced to break up with her by his parents because he was considered an adult. Three years he waited, and on her 18th birthday he proposed to her. Love shown by teenagers that never dies, GMH.

A few years ago my grandfather was admitted into the ICU unit in the hospital. I went to go visit him, but could only watch him through a glass box. I stood there crying, while he lay there with his eyes closed, barely alive. The nurse told him I was there. He opened his eyes, smiled ear to ear, and waved to me. That night he passed away. YLGMH.
